Many of you know that for two and half decades my wife and I worked at St Paul’s Centre in Crewe. It was a wonderful time in our lives. One of the privileges, and achievements was to re-home people. In a good day with two vans and four helpers we could move two families/six or seven people to a new or improved setting. Our work and actions were driven by our partnership with God in a love for humanity.
On this past Saturday I had the privilege, with three friends, of moving around 150 thousand of God’s other wonderful creatures – bees.
For me, caring for and helping to improve any part of this world helps to connect my faith with the source of its inspiration – God.
The Easter story can be viewed as about new beginnings. Moving from a vision of darkness and nothing beyond the grave to hope and a new forever home. In my life I have helped and been helped to move home, on this earth, many times- many new beginnings…
I take from the Easter story a promise of help when my final re-homing takes place.
